Internet Addiction Disorder(IAD) can be defined as a kind of damage of thephysiological, social and psychological function aroused by the addiction ofvirtual interactive experience and information, the long-term separation fromthe society in the individual usage of the Internet. It takes the Internet asthe medium and takes virtual material like interactive experience andinformation stored in the Internet as the addiction. The problem of the IADamong the teenagers has become a seriously attention-getting issue. Accordingto the research from home and abroad, the action of the IAD includes five parts:----. The on-line time, social, physiological and psychological factors andso on. According to the present statistics, the inverse proportion of the IADis between 3% and 14%, and male are more addictive to than female. IAD bringsa lot of problems, it affects physical and psychological health, causes thedecline of the efficiency in the work and study and the degradation of therelations.Nowadays the research work of the IAD is in the elementary stage, so itneeds deepening and widening. The students in Higher Vocational and TechnicalColleges in our country are an expanding group, and meanwhile the study of theIAD in our country is still blank. This paper collects the situation of theIAD of the students in Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges through thestudy and investigation, analyses the social supporting situation andpsychological health situation to the sufferers of the IAD, and therefore helpsto solve the problem of the IAD among the students in Higher Vocational andTechnical Colleges.This research work took the class as a group to test, and received 554 validquestionnaires. The spot check came from the grade one and grade two (inconsideration of the busy work of the college students in grade three such asstudy, job-hunting and graduation design, their answers might be inauthentic).Here are the main results:First, the proportion of the IAD in the students in Higher Vocational andTechnical Colleges is high, it is nearly 10%, and it shows that the studentsin Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges are the high incidence rate groupof the IAD.Second, IAD and non-IAD have great differences in sex, on-line time andthe fee. The male college students are easier to incline to IAD. The on-linetime can be an important basis for reference.Third, female college students prefer to the function of chat on-line andmaking personal homepage. And male college students prefer to the function ofplaying the on-line games. It might be related to the personality andpsychological character between two different sexes.Fourth, there are three distinct differences of the Internet usage betweenthe IAD and non-IAD in the information index, exploring the website and on-linegames. The IAD group does less on information index and exploring the websitewhile does more on playing on-line games. So playing on-line games is the maindangerous element of the IAD.Fifth, the scores in the symptom index of the psychological health,hostility, crankiness and sensitivity in human relation of the IAD group arehigher than that of non-IAD group. The IAD group has worse health situationand many problems.Last, the scores in social support and subjective support of the IAD groupare distinctively lower than non-IAD group.
