Transparent Language And Fuzzy Research

Semantic transparency is the original goal in the language communication, in parallel with the unavoidable vagueness in the essence and usage of it. As the notional projection of human thought, the vagueness and transparency of language in turn influences the development of thought and send people into the abyss of contradiction between the pursuit of definite meaning and the vague essence of language.On the base theory of previous specialists and scholars and with the support from linguistics, pragmatics, cognitive psychology, and philosophy, the paper sets out to review the projection of vagueness of different layers of thought on the linguistic system, defines the category of vagueness, puts forward the new definitions of vagueness and transparency, and conducts analyses on the transformation between vagueness and transparency on different levels of language from the generation and resolution of linguistic information respectively. In following the movement of the cognitive focus of information to track meaning, the paper also attempts to construct the framework of an interpretative to solve the vagueness of language to a certain extent,which is inevitable and indispensable and helps people to express ideas and feelings more exactly. In response to the human needs, the cognitive focus of information is ceaselessly piloting language to transform between vagueness and transparency.
