Vermeer lived in the second half of 17th century of Netherlands, he is a prominent artist following Hals, Rembrandt. Vermeer was a quiet and introverted person immersed in his world of painting. From his paintings, we may experience his peaceful nature because every painting is the expression of his inner heart. Through the orderly room processing, the soft contour, precise shape, vibrating light, special color expression, we comprehend the peace in the paintings.Vermeer is an adherent of custom painting, small frame. His painting always includes one or two women engaged in housework and other kinds of indoor activities, soft light shone into the window, which seems warm, quiet and produces a poetic realm. In the small frame, he shows the delicate and vivid small scenes, laying emphasis on the pure, bright effect and the overall sense of the screen. He has no intention of combining moralizing content in his works like other custom painters, instead, he held on to the peaceful and comfortable Petty aesthetic interest.Today Vermeer is esteemed as an excellent custom painter as well as a lyric poet exhibiting light. In the works, peace and adherence are everywhere. It is just the same case with Vermeer's personality and his paintings, both achieved the perfect harmony and unity.
