Museums are invaluable treasure for a certain region, country and nation. Nowadays these non-profit organizations confront new challenges as cultural tourism and charge-free museums upsurge. The marketing concept of museum being developing, the notion "non-profit organization" has been deeply changed in people's mind. The industry has already reached a consensus that museum boutiques and their cultural souvenir products should be developed.Every museum has its own particular cultural resource and its unique endowed advantages for developing cultural souvenir products. However, the exploitation of these products in our country is still in elementary stage or even undevelopped stage, so there is enormous potential for growth. Therefore, it is an important task to effectively promote the development of cutural souvenir products in museums.The thesis is constructed on a correct viewpoint of "以文养文". It analyzes, through presenting the opportunities and challenges for museum industry, the feasibility, importance and necessity of special souvenir development in museums. Then the thesis attempts to propose some general principles on inovative design of cultural souvenir products in museums by analyzing the sucess of the souvenir development in Gugong Museum in Taipei. Finally, in view of the development of souvenir products in Chinese museums, the thesis indicates the existing problems and makes a series of explorotary suggestions for the souvenir product development in museums.
