Improvisation Exercises In The Teaching

This paper tries to explore the significance and function the improvisational exercises play with the improvisation training as the cutting point. The acting teaching in our country falls into three stages in general: the training of creative acting quality, the rehearsal of character, and the performing in a play. The improvisation exercises locate the three stages differently.This paper starts with explicating the concept of improvisation and improvisational exercises, analyzes the pedagogical goal of improvisational exercises, studies the basis of psychology in the improvisational exercises, and discusses the derivation and operation of it.On purpose of cultivating the creative actors, exploring and enriching the acting pedagogical methods of our times, this paper studies the improvisational exercises with the acting cases, and summarizes and creates the new methods of the improvisational exercises. This paper may also provide a new perspective and possibility for the other researchers and students on the character creation.
