Students On Hardiness, Social Support And Subjective Well-being Research

This resaerch probes into the relationships between hardines and social support,and subjective-well being among college students,using the Hardiness Scale (HS)complied by Lu guohua and Liang baoyong,the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) cmplied by Xiao,shuiyuan,the International University Survey (ICS) complied by Ed Diener.588 college students were tested and the results shows that:1.The conditions of hardiness,social support and subjective well-being among college students are generally in a medium level.2.To a certain extent,demographic variables have some effects on hardiness,sociaal support and subjective well-being.(1)college students'life satisfaction shows significant differences on gender, birthplace,whether served as students leaders,whether only child,whether supported by state funded grants;college students'positive affects shows prominent differences on whether served as students leaders, whether supported by state funded grant; college students'negtive affects shows significant differences on whether supported by state funded grants and grades.(2)college students'hardiness total scores shows significant differences on gender and whether served as students leaders.(3) college students'social support total scores shows significant differences on grades and whether served as students leaders.3. College students'hardiness and life satisfaction, positive affects show significantly positive correlations,hardiness and negative afeects are negatively related with each other And hardiness is an important positve predictor of life satisfaction and positive affects,and negative predictor of negative afeects.4. College students'social support and life satisfaction, positive affects show significantly positive correlations, social support and negative afeects are negatively related with each other. And social support is an important positve predictor of life satisfaction and positive affects,and negative predictor of negative afeects.5. Hardiness and social support of college students are significantly correlated.6.Hardiness and social support of college students have significantly direct effect no subjective well-being.
