| Interpersonal support and self-regulation of individual emotions affect the level of individual physical and mental health and subjective well-being in people’s daily life.Studying the relationship between social support,subjective well-being and positive emotions of college students,and exploring whether positive emotions mediate between the other two have an intermediary meaning to the mental health of college students and to improve the quality of life.Taking questionnaires as the main method in this study,2045 college students in Changchun,Jilin Province were randomly selected as the study objects,The Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),the Chinese version of the Positive and Negative Emotion Scale(PANAS)and the Global Well-being Scale(GWBS)were used,and SPSS was also used to implement descriptive statistics,independent sample t tests and one-way analysis of variance to the data,followed by correlation analysis and regression analysis,and finally the test of mediation effect.After analyzing and exploring the relationship between social support,subjective well-being and positive emotions in the college student groups,the following results were obtained:(1)The overall college students’ social support was at a relatively good level,and there was no significant difference in social support in terms of only child or not,grade or family economic status.Subjective factors had significant differences in the birthplace,gender,majors,family structure and family atmosphere.Objective factors in social support had significant differences in family atmosphere and marital status.And there were significant differences in support utilization factor among majors,family structure and family atmosphere.(2)The subjective well-being of college students was at a relatively good level.There was no significant difference in the subjective well-being of college students in gender,majors and marital status,but there are significant differences in the birthplace,only child or not,family structure,family atmosphere,grades andfamily economic status.Among them,the subjective well-being factor of health concerns were significantly different in the family structure,the energy factors were significantly different in the birthplace,family atmosphere and family structure,and the satisfaction and interest factors in life were significantly different in the birthplace,family structure and family atmosphere.Melancholy or happy mood factors were significantly different in the birthplace and family atmosphere,the factors controlling emotions and behaviors were significantly different in the birthplace,only child or not and the family atmosphere.The relaxation and tension(anxiety)factors were significant differences in the birthplace,family structure,only child or not and family environment.(3)The college students’ positive emotions is at the middle-to-upper level,and the total levels of positive emotions and negative emotions were not significantly different in the birthplace,only child or not,family structure,family economic status,but there are significant differences in gender,profession,family atmosphere,marital status and grades.There were significant differences in positive emotion factors in gender,love situation,and grades,and there were significant differences in negative emotion factors in gender,profession,family atmosphere and grades.(4)The factor of health concerns in subjective well-being was significantly negatively correlated with the dimensions of social support and the dimensions of positive emotions.The social support,subjective well-being,and positive emotions of college students were all significantly correlated in a positive manner.(5)According to the analysis of the intermediary effect,the positive emotions of college students played a mediating role between social support and subjective well-being.The above results show that the positive emotions of college students will be affected by social support,which will affect the subjective well-being of college students in turn: When college students get different subjective support and objective support from society with different utilization of support,their emotional experiences and perceptions of society will change,and the level of subjective well-being of college students will also change.Therefore,no matter in the work of mental healtheducation in colleges or clinical counseling that interferes with the level of subjective well-being of college students,we can help college students to build effective social support system to enhance the level of positive emotions and ultimately improve their subjective well-being. |
