Early Tang Sui Kam Thought

"Sui Jian" theory refers to the opinions and views brought up by the early rulers of Tang dynasty from a comprehensive review of the extinction of the Sui dynasty and on the basis of the deep reflection about the reasons of the prosperity of Tang dynasty and the extinction of Sui dynasty, at the same time, incorperated into plenty of beneficial political thoughts addressed according to the actual conditions of the early Tang dynasty. The aim is to avoid repeating the tragdy of the Sui dynasty and to achieve the long-term stability of Li Tang dynasty.This paper takes the Zhen Guan Zheng Yao written by the Tang Dynasty historian Wu Jing as the center, following the requirements of historical materialism, combined with academic-related research results, from the history of ancient China and the tradition of learning from history, making a overall research about the "Sui Jian" theory and the related issues. First of all, this paper analyzes the cause of the " Sui Jian" theory, and believes that production of " Sui Jian" theory has deep social and ideological roots, it is the final result of the shock of the quick extinction of Sui dynasty, the influence of history checking tradition and the impressive history consciousness and awareness of the unexpected development of the monarch and his subjects at the early of Tang dynasty. Secondly, this paper sorts out the specific contents in detail of the " Sui Jian " theory and makes a conclusion into four parts:the relationship between the Emperor and the commons, the relationship between the Emperor and his subjects, the Emperor's cultivation and the political thoughts. Thirdly, this paper reveals the influences of the "Sui Jian" theory, the "Sui Jian" theory with its resourceful contents and a large number of scientific recognitions, giving a wide and deep influence on the Tang dynasty and the rulers through all ages in their political practice, directly or indirectly pushes the emergence of the prosperity of ancient China; "Sui Jian" theory with its idea of learning from history which partakes of the characteristics of strong practical statecraft and the reality of servicing for politics produce a dual role to the Chinese traditional history.To research the "Sui Jian" theory systematically is helpful to reinforce the acquaintance to conventional Chinese history and the tradition of learning from history in-depth, then gain a objective assessment about the realistic value of the studying in history and the reference of history.
