China And South Korea Names A Comparative Study

As a person who lives in this society, he must have many things, but among them the《name》is indispensable to him. A person can choose the clothes according to his taste at any time, but can't choose the his own name with his will.Through study on the name, we can understand that ethnic culture and ethnolinguistics besides ethos.Through He Xiao-ming's《Name andChinese Culture》and Zhao Rui-min's《Name and Chinese Culture》these twobooks helped me understand about the Chinese culture inclusive of chinesename's. After I read Yi Su-gen's《Korean Name and A Genealogical Table》, Yi Sang-jin's《An Introduction to Korean Genealogy》, Bae Wu-ri's《Firm Father and Mother Give A Good Name to Child》, these three books gave me a good knowledge of Korean culture, Korean name's included. With the name's of 2000 Foreign Language Department students in Zaozhuang University, the name's of 1000 Korean Sahm Yook Language Insititute students,《A genealogical table of Heung-hae bae's family》,《A genealogical table of Cheng-songshim's family》, Korean Language Society held the contest for good Korean names,that prizewiner's name,did comparison and analysis.This thesis comparesand analyzes Chinese-Korean names with a point of sameness and differences. On the surface among Chinese-Korean names, surnames are in the front,givennames are at the end. such a comnon point in structure, the originof surnames,the feelings of surnames, the name is followed by generationalorder, with the insignificant name wish longevity, expressing the idea thatmen are ruperior to women,when it is named by Yin Yang and fifth element.Such that everythings improved that China and Korea have the same cultural basis. Chinese names have a reiterative characters phenomenon but Korean names have no such phenomenon.Though Korea is influenced by Chiness character culture, it formed unique Korean-Chinese character names and pure Koreannames by rason of phonetic differences. It showed that the phenomenon of following the mother's surname or mother and father's surname composed for the women's liberation movement.Because of their different liguistic habits,Chinese add a prefix小／大／老to the front of surnames,Koreans add a suffix (?) to the end of the surname, besides that suffix have a function of sex distinction. Because Korean grammar is strict, as calling by name, it must add a postposition to the end of the given name. And also, through research and analysis of Koraen-Chinese character names I found that the same and the different points have a practical reason. Finally, I tried to predict the developmental progress of two nation's Chinese character names.
