Since the mid-19th century, Japan and Russia started fierce competition increasingly in the northeast region. At the beginning of 20 centuries, the two sides' conflict were dramatic escalation and ultimately went to war. From February 1904 to September 1905, Japan-Russia started the war about one half a year. The war was ended with the failure of Russia. This war brought far-reaching effect to China. To a certain extent, the history of China was changed.The main text illustrates in detail from the following three parts.The first part describes chinese humiliation and disaster which brought Russo-Japanese War. Chinese territory and sovereignty were lost in further by the Russo-Japanese war. The war caused extremely grave disaster to the Chinese people and a huge loss of life and property which can not be calculated, as well as immeasurable indirect losses and mental anguish. The results of the Russo-Japanese war implanted the Japanese influence in the northeast region. Opened the convenient door for the more the expansion of Japanese, especially for the future expansion of the Japanese imperialists planted seeds of aggression against China in the future.The second part describes Chinese political changes. This part consists thee major aspects. First, touched by the war, the Qing government strengthened the control of the northeast to preserve its rule through reformed the northeast China bureaucratic institution and led into Europe and America influence to Contain the Russo-Japanese. Second, By the shock of the Russo-Japanese War, Constitutional movement gradually rise in China. Chinese bourgeoisie constitutionalism struggled for achieving its constitutional ideals. The Qing Government compelled to conduct preparatory constitutional with no alternative. At the same time, the revolutionary situation develops in further.The third section describes the people's mental changes during the Russo-Japanese War. This part narrated their own mentality of the social strata at the front of the Russo-Japanese War. Qing government traitorous willing to do the dogs of imperialism. The Qing government completely became"foreigner's imperial court". Bourgeois constitutional faction recognize the nature of Qing government gradually. The bourgeoisie converges step by step going ahead to the road opposing clear anti-imperialist revolution.Most of the ordinary people resisted foreign aggression, while a small part of the population is still insensitive.
