Interrogative sentences have played an important role in the speech acts of any language. The essay has researched on japanese interrogative sentences. Firstly, on the basis of traditional grammar research, the japanese interrogative sentences have been deeply analyzed and have declarative function, imperative function, and no-doubt questioning function due to various psychological states and polite greetings, besides basic inquiry funtion. Secondly, the essay has researched on the reasons for the gradual weakening, transfering and fading away of the japanese interrogative sentences'inquiry funtion from the perspective of pragmatics, in other words, the essay has found out the pragmatics factor and grammatical factor leading to the japanese interrogative sentences'transforming from strong questioning to weak questioning, and then to non-questionging. The essay has also analyzed the pragmatics and grammatical evolutionary mechanism of the japanese interrogative sentences, and has tried to discover the essencial characters for the weakening and tranfering of the japanese interrogative sentences.
