FRAME and METAPHOR are closely related to word meaning, and they are the important aspects of Cognitive Linguistics. In this thesis, we study translation from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and we take Frame Theory as a starting point to study the mind of the translator in the process of translation. We have found the translator's decoding and encoding mainly rely on cognitive frames, which ensure the expressions can meet the original intent and adapt to the target receiver's cognitive ability and cognitive environment. Frames can help the translator to select the appropriate metaphor translation method. Through describing and explaining the translator's mind in the process of translation, we try to testify "transfer mechanism" within the translator's mind is probably the frame, on which the meaning of language mainly relies for its generation. Linguistic expressions function both as triggers to activate and as anchors to stabilize the cognitive frames. In addition, we've found that there are many similar or identical places in thinking frames of Chinese and English through the comparison of Twelve Chinese Zodiac and some idiomatic expressions about them. Therefore, we may explore into more blind spots of the translation through frame analyzing.
