Zhongchang Tong(180-220) was the materialism philosopher,progressive thinker,writer,and the last representative of the Trend of Social Criticism in Late Eastern Han Dynasty.Late Eastern Han Dynasty was a very confused period for kinds of social contradictions,and the state apparatus could not function smoothly.With the Privilege of Emperors'Maternal Relatives and eunuchs,the promotion of intellectuals was bottle necked.Zhongchang Tong had to settle for expressing his ideas by writing.But Only three parts of Zhongchang Tong's work,Chang Yan with totally more than one hundred thousand words,survived yet,that is,Managing Disorder, Lossand Law Commandments.These three parts added up to less than 20,000 words,covering only one or two in ten of the original and were distributed in different books and articles.Chang Yan pointed out lots of serious social problems about the politics,economy,philosophy and other aspects in Later Eastern Han Dynasty.The subjects of this article,which is based mainly on Chang Yan and other articles,focus on the background and the main content of his thoughts.At the same time, compared with the thoughts of Wang Fu,Wang Chong,Xun Yue and others at different levels,I hope to have a comprehensive and objective evaluationto the system of his thoughts.The research on Zhongchang Tong in the academic world lasted throughout the Qin and Han Dynasty,including politics,economy,philosophy,legal history and other aspects,among which the research on Chang Yan is the most prominent.After reading a lot about Zhong chang Tong,I wrote this article on the basis of previous studies,mainly focusing on the following four aspects : First of all , discuss the background of Zhongchang Tong ' s life and his composition.This part will make us discuss his ideas and thoughts in a special historical period and help us to make an objective analysis and evaluation to his ideas and thoughts.In the second part,first analyze Zhongchang Tong's views of humanistic theory of historical development and social criticism.Then,analysize Zhongchang Tong's theory of Economic Reform from the "limited field to break merge recovery", tithe even if the old Fu,and high salary ensure honesty and agricultural policy . Thirdly , show his virtue-based , penalty-supplemented ruling ideology .Finally,evaluate the relationship between Nature and Name debate on name versus reality life principle and health preservation. Thus,we can understand Zhongchang Tong's ideas more comprehensively and detailedly.
