Wushan, Then Vocabulary Study

Wushan language belongs to south-west dialect which is included in north dialect. This thesis focuses on the study of the vocabularies of Wushan language in Chongqing City. Based on field survey and tidied up vocabularies Wushan language, the author will make a comparison transversely and vertically. The transverse comparison includes the comparison between Wushan language and Mandarin; and the comparison of vocabularies between the inquiry spots in Wushan County. As for the comparison between Wushan language and Mandarin, the author aims at finding out the word-building characteristics mainly by comparing the nouns, the verbs, the adjectives between Wushan language and Mandarin. The comparison of vocabularies in Wushan language refers to the comparison between each of the inquiry spots. By vertical comparing of the mentioned aspects, the author aims at concluding the characteristic vocabularies and explaining the vocabularies by examples.The dialect of Chinese language all historically developed from the Ancient Chinese. By comparing the vocabularies of Wushan language, we found that it carried on and developed part of the vocabularies of the Ancient Chinese. Combined with "Broad Rhyme","Collection Rhyme" and other documents,the author will do some interpretation and study the origin of commonly used vocabularies in Wushan language.
