In the history of modern Chinese literature, Rou Shi mainly owned three identities:The first, he was the only friend and student whom Lu Xun dared to entrust with private affairs; The second, he was a freelance writer who seeked the survival by writing; The third, he was the left wing who sacrificed the precious life for the sake of the revolution. In the process of nearing and following Mr Lu Xun, Rou Shi had established his own literature concept. But he Involuntarily sank into a kind of awkward situation that his literature ideal and popular literature had the conflict because of the commercialization environment of literary production and his firm revolutionary belief.Be to compromise? Or continue to adhere to? Rou Shi had used his actual deeds to prove that: The real mature writer would not lose survival capital because of not following the literary mainstream, and also can not abandon his own artistic individuality because of believe in revrevolutionary thoughts firmly. This paper is based on it and is divided into two part to discuss. In the upper part, I elaborate the formation and firmness of Rou Shi's literature ideal from some aspects such as times background, group affiliation and circumstances of literature creation, and reveal the connotation of Rou Shi's literature concept and creation principle. In the lower part, I want to explore Rou Shi's unique sense in the history of modern Chinese literature and discuss the differences between Rou Shi's novel and early left-wing literature on choice of subject, expression mode of love and structure arrangement by studying on concrete works.
