Oil Painting as a foreign import, introduced to China long ago.But the Chinese people to accept and systematic study of oil painting nearly a century thing. Through the efforts of several generations of Chinese painting, oil painting in China has a certain scale and gradually formed the system. Chinese oil painting, its language is the West, and its deeply rooted cultural soil of the East, the Chinese culture, which is the premise of the argument in this thesis. Spirit of freehand is a concentrated expression of the spirit of Chinese art. From the view of the Traditional Chinese painting history in development, the Spirit widely embedded in the Chinese art and Chinese paintings, and the Spirit is the spirit of the Chinese local culture and the arts one of the most typical representatives,therefore, it has the latent factors.to affect the spirit of Chinese painting freehand localization.With Chinese artists mastering the language of painting and conscious awareness, how to draw the alien species "has become their national blood" still our localization to the development of painting in the end purpose. And Wu, as the late twentieth century Chinese painting can not be ignored also irreplaceable figure. In his 60 years of painting career, Wu bold exploration, pursuit to realize the Western Art and Oriental Art, modern spirit and national traditions combination of Eastern and Western painting to financial awareness and creative approach in his painting scenery creation, and thus stands apart, unique style. He not only filled with oil painting contemporary landscape, but also implies a charm of oriental art with outstanding freehand, and he greatly enriched oil painting technique of expression, and widened the field of oil painting's performance. No doubt his painting practice oil painting on the Chinese characteristics of our thinking has provided valuable experience. His art embodied the spirit of Chinese art worth study and consideration.This paper attempts in the previous studies, based on the results of previous studies to sort out, sum,and further reflection on their problems, through a specific interpretation of the spirit of the Chinese freehand brushwork, reveal and summed up the Wu's painting art, a comprehensive analysis of a representative of the Wu artistic perspective, the adoption of specific works of analysis focuses on the Chinese impressionistic landscape oil paintings by Wu Guanzhong spirit of absorption and integration, and summarizes the discussion of the concept of Wu Guanzhong's art of painting in contemporary Chinese painting process and its impact on enlightenment of modern painting.
