In our theoretical tradition,"learning to good"is a powerful theory. But it is often misunderstood as"learning from ancient times", with times successively learning the meaning of calligraphy. Emphasis on"learning to good"is not a lot in learning the benefits of calligraphy. This article details the successful of the ancient and the modern calligraphers, whose learn from the start of modern men, and then succeed .In consequence, those who claim"Learning to good"is only a pretty view. The purpose of this article is not intended to oppose"learning to good", but stresses such a concept: If we want to understand the long tradition, we do not need to bypass the research results of modern human. It is able to provide many practical and effective learners inspired. Of course, Learning from the modern times is not our ultimate goal of learning calligraphy. On our long road of learning, it just played the role of stage. Learning from modern times is to be effective to learn the ancient through modern times. We could eventually form a distinctive personal and creative style.
