From The Man To See Shanqi Political Activities Before And After The Xinhai

As we all know, the Manchu-han relations had been affected at all the levels of society through the whole Qing Dynasty. It is an important aspect to research the political activities of modern historical figures, especially the Manchu nobility, from the perspective of Manchu-han relations. As a core figure of the ruling group in the late Qing, Shanqi had a special ethnic identity and political status. His political activities before and after the 1911 Revolution are noticeable, and there is no common consensus on that. So it is worth further exploration and study.This paper is intended to make a brief exposition of Shanqi's political activities before and after the 1911 Revolution from Man-Han relations perspective. The main contents are as follows:The frist part is general introduction. It mainly introduces the significance of this selected topic, and related research results, literature, ideas of the past. The second part is Manchu-han relations in the late Qing Dynasty and Shanqi's success in political career. It analyzes the transition of the Manchu-han relations in the late Qing Dynasty is the main backgroud that Shanqi make rapid advances in political arena. The third part is Shanqi in the political change. It mainly talks about how Su Prince Shanqi dealed with the complex relations between Manchu and Han during the rising period of Qing Terminal New Deal and Man-exclusion movement. Meanwhile, his advocacy and initiatives of Qing Terminal New Deal made a significant contribution to the modernization of China on some level. The fourth part is highlight of ethnic consciousness and the elevation of political identity. Shanqi participated the organization of Zongshe Party, and engaged in restoration activities afer the 1911 Revolution. That was the important manifestation of his ethnic identity awareness-raising and the political interaction. The last part of the article is conclusion. After a analysis of the evaluation on Shanqi, it mainly focuses on concluding how I assess Prince Su Shanqi. Shanqi's activities includes not only ethnic factors, but more important is the political factors. The former is its form, the latter is the contents. Man-Han ethnic relations is an important level and content in history of modern Chinese Nationalities' Relation. However its core is still a political issue, it is still a subordinate issue for the historical development of modern China.
