Under the noisy environment of numerous mass media, under the banner which named "wave guide of the times", fashion journals have sprung up everywhere, which positioning itself as "elite" and "excellent" in various newspapers and periodicals. The cultural traits of fashion journals are becoming increasingly prominent with the growing ranks of reader's. With its colorful pictures, as well as symbolic symbols, fashion journals is to create a myth of modern consume. The development and prosperity of fashion journals is not only a media industry phenomenon concerned by journalism or communications, but also a cultural phenomenon concerned by sociology. From the perspective of consumer culture, studying fashion journals has great practical significance and academic value.Fashion trend magazines and consumer culture co-exist in modern society. The mass media, Including fashion journals, making a great effort for the prevalence of consumer culture, and consumer culture provides spiritual support for fashion magazines'development, which are interdependent, existing in the consumer society jointly. Symbolic consumption advocated by the fashion Journal is a product of popular consumer culture in the world, whose negative impact is often criticized by the academic. But the need to point out is that, we can not spread the culture of fashion periodicals exactly the same as in the culture of consumerism, or a complete denial of fashion journals'cultural values, but rather a correct understanding of co-existence phenomenon for fashion journals,consumer culture,the mass media and consumer culture.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part is an development overview of fashion periodicals, including its causes, development status and the characteristics analysis. This section provides background information for the entire study.Second part, "Ruili" journal, for example, through analysis of its content, form, advertising communication and other aspects, starting from the consumption of visual culture, symbols, pleasure and conspicuous, finding out the overlap and fit between fashion magazines and consumer culture.Partâ…¢introduced the consumer society, consumer culture and the evolution of our consumer attitudes, discussed co-existence relationship between the consumer culture and fashion journals, pointing out domesticated role of the middle class for fashion journals.The fourth section discusses the current phenomenon of consumer culture and mass media conspiracy.This paper seeks to explore the relationship between contemporary fashion journals and consumer culture, parsing out the perspective of consumer culture in the fashion journals, meantime out looking the future of fashion journals in the development of consumer culture.
