A Study On Social Accountability Of Chinese Charitable Organizations

Nowadays, the number and size of the charity organization increased in a large margin, the social responsibility and the ability to attract funds has also been strengthened. But the charity scandal also emerged. The case of “Hu man li”and”Guo mei mei”and so on, which set off the charity accountability storm by the public. The lack of credibility and the regulatory issues concerned about the public’s interest in the charity organization. As an important part of administrative accountability, the social accountability is particularly important in the charity organization. The public, media and civic organization issued more and more increasing calls.Therefore, the article using the social accountability theory in “World Bank experts group social accountability in the public sector: the concept to study and analysis” as a theoretical basis. Using the charity organization as the object, and the realistic necessity of the social accountability in the elaboration of the charity organization, analysis the actual questions which exist in the process of the social responsibility, at the same time, put forward some countermeasures in the various aspects of social accountability, value dimension and system level. For example, build the culture concept; improve the construction of its running mechanism and supervision mechanism and so on. Hope to provide certain theory reference for charity organization in the social accountability process.
