A Study On The Relationship Between Government And Media In The Management Of Natural Disaster Crisis In China

In recent years, public crisis have caused many challenges to Chinese gover nment. In settle of crisis, government not only gain experience, but also face ne w problems. In this context, the old way of crisis management has been unable to meet the increasingly complex crisis situations. Therefore, crisis management s hould put on the agenda as a new subject time required. Learning good interacti on mode between the government and the media, it’s not only requirement of pu blic crisis management discipline development, but also inevitable requirement of the times calls to government. Therefore, as a core part of crisis management, i t is very important to deal with relationship between the government and the me dia reasonable.It has important theoretical and practical significance for government t o participate in the research about the development features in public crisis situation, rec ognize the function of media and the public, as well as promoting the rational interactio n between media and government itself. Not only to promote social stability and ec onomic development, more conducive to promoting the practice of scientific deve lopment concept and building a harmonious socialist society.The thesis conducts comprehensive studies about the background of relationship be tween the government and media when managing natural disasters crisis. Then, it introd uces the central content in need of researching by analyzing the interaction in managing natural disasters crisis between governments and media at home and abroad. By the mea ns of analytic comparison and case studies, the meaning and purpose of the thesis is de monstrated as well. By introducing natural disaster crisis management related definitions and the role and functions of media in natural disaster crisis management for the study of the subsequent articles provide favorable theoretical basis and guiding ideas. In the third part, it focus on analyzing the relationship between the government and the media in crisis management of natural disasters at home and abroad. By comparison the United States, Japan, Germany, the government and media relationship of the three countries in natural disaster crisis management, as well as our government and media relationship in the Wenchuan earthquake, to find the response to natural disasters in the government and the media crisis management system. By analysis of the interaction relationship between the government and the media in natural disaster crisis management, we found the current remaining problems in the process of interaction, which are problems from four aspects, the media itself, government control, legal system and lack of talent. Moreover, it analyze, summarize the reasons for problems. Finally, this thesis presents proposals and countermeasures to improve government and media relationship in natural disaster crisis management.
