The Imperial Examination System is an important election institution in the late of Ancient China, which tremendous impacted on society politics, economy, culture, and education etc. With the implementation of the imperial examination system from the Tang Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, the imperial fame system had been generated in order to Improve the examination system and rope the heart of the Confucianist. The reason why the imperial fame system been generated is that the results of Scholars political and cultural advancement and Measure of national Bureaucracy improvement. As a social identity in Ancient China, the imperial fame not only is lifelong, but also benefit for those examinee. What is more,the imperial fame system,which is provided with those characteristic,has deep influence on Ming Dynasty because of the gentry level.According to the point of identity capitalization and perspective of Identity given,this research aims to study the Ming Dynasty Imperial fame System which is reflected through the background, the procedure, the content, the effect.The research firstly introduce the concept of “identity” in sociology and analyze the capital characteristic of identity which is one of aspects of the identity. the capital characteristic of identity means that individual with identity can raise his value, for example, gaining wealth,prestige,status in the society. Secondly, In order to ensure elite and control of officials, man who want to gain the fame of the Imperial Examination System must enter school and take the test.although many people could receive the fame,most of them became slave of the emperor. Thirdly,in order to dominate his government, the emperor had to Building a large and stable bureaucracy reserve. As culture occupant, Confucians always struggled with ruler for the purpose of ideal in life. At last, Ming Dynasty Imperial Examination System of fame as the best product to meet the needs of both sides. Thirdly, In the end, the Imperial fame System not only Ensure unity of national ideology, but also achieve stability and vertical transverse in the society. The gentry level, who had high status and prestige in the community, assumed the responsibility of protecting Chinese traditional culture, In addition, they became the agent between government and plebeian so that they can ensure the stability of the country.
