Since its independence, Myanmar has experienced three political transitions, namely parliamentarian democracy, socialism, and authoritarian governance. Myanmar has undergone a way characterized by a circle of political transition. After U Thein Sein administration took inauguration in 2011, innovation and heritage appeared in the new government. This paper focuses on the democratization process; especially the democratic transition in U Thein Sein's era, as well its impact on Aung San Suu Kyi's NLD new government.This paper emphasizes on the previous two political transitions, and analyzes the historical causes and dynamics of the third transition.How to deals with the performance of U Thein Sein government, and review on the 2010 general election.The third part sorts out the difference of the character and effectiveness between the U Thein Sein government and the previous ones, especially in the political, legal, economic and diplomatic fields.The fourth part focuses on the post-U Thein Sein era. After the 2015 general election, NLD won a landslide success, and the new government faces opportunity and challenge.The fifth part is the conclusion. Myanmar's political elites harbor staunch resolution in the reform. The development of the democratization will facilitate. Nationalism, religious and racial tensions pose a conundrum for the new government. The success of the transition rests on the maitainence of the equilibrium among the three.
