Analysis Of The Trans-border Ethnic Issues Between China And Burma And The Effects On China

The trans-border ethnic issues between China and Burma is a extremely complex problem about politics, economy, culture, society, nation and other aspects. For instance, drug abuse, kidnapping, illegal immigration, the outflowing of people in China’s southwest border area and ethnic separatism are prevalent in the border area between China and Burma. As the trans-border ethnic issues appeared, the insecurity and instability factors are gradually increased. People’s normal life are threatened by more and more transnational crime, rampant ethnic separatist forces and disordered border security management sequence. With the outstanding presentation of trans-border ethnic issues, China and Burma launched a number of specific cooperation actions. However, the implementation of policies and actions are limited because of the lack of overall institutional and normative guidance. To prevent further deterioration of the trans-border ethnic issues in southwest China, we need to seek corresponding measures both on domestic and international levels. Thus, we can carry out a wide range of consultation and cooperation to promote the economic development, social stability, ethnic harmony in China’s southwest and the relations of friendly exchanges between China and Burma.This paper first describes the causes and specific performance of trans-border ethnic issues between China and Burma. And then,it provides the analysis and discussion of the issues’ impacts on stable borderland in China and the diplomatic relations between China and Burma. It also put forwards specific measures to address the issue and offers advices and reflection to our governments.
