Research On The Impact Of Environmental Protection Association On Environmental Protection Decision

As the champion of the numerous environmental NGOs in America, the Environmental Defense Fund has played a decisive role in environmental enhancement. Meanwhile, as an environmental public interest group, it has been actively involved in the political process and exerted important impact on environmental decision-making. On the basis of how the EDF, which is the object of study, influenced the environmental decision-making by the political decision-making analysis method from different dimension such as the legislative, executive, judicial branch and the decision-making process, this article aims to impartially summarize the effects that the EDF has got, which are advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Beneficial enlightenment to the environmental NGOs of China could be drawn from the analysis of the political participation experiences of the EDF by the research of the EDF and the combing of the Chinese environmental NGOs’ situation. As a consequence, the environmental NGOs could exert influences better, both on the environmental decision-making and environmental enhancement.
