.21 Beginning Of The Century, China's Security Environment Analysis

The world is entering the promising 21St centuly, and people are focusing on the security environment of China at the very beginning of new century. This paper, through analyzing the three significant changes taken place on the security environment of China upon the end of cold war, points out that the security environment of China will confront challenges at the very beginning of 21 憕 century, which mainly reflects on aspects as the threatening of being involved in regional conflicts and nonwestern countries confronting humanitarian interference; the development of Sino-U. S relations facing underlying danger; America's strategy of ontainment?on China; escalating of global armament race; China's sovereign integrity and pressure caused by untraditional security. Aiming to the challenges this paper, from aspects of economy, militaiy diplomacy, circumjacent relations, Sino- U.S relations and participating in the reform of international system, raises strategic proposition of the security environment of China at the very beginning of 21 century. The writer believes that although the existence of power politics and hegemonism are the parent of modem war and the threatening of world war has been far to elimina nowadays the increase of the world抯 peace power has exceeded that of war factors. Peace and development is today's topic of the world. With the joint striving of nationalities, nations and people loving peace all over the world war is sure to be avoidable. At the beginning of 21 century China shall be able to provide the economic construction with peaceful and tranquil circumjacent and international environment. The comprehensive power and international status is sure to be further enhanced and improved, the 2l century's China will be much more prosperous, much stronger and much safer.
