On The Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone To Attract Foreign Direct Investment Measures

Today, the middle-west area of China is facing the opportunity of china's entry into WTO and Development Project of its west part. Under such circumstances, how to utilize foreign direct investment has become a key issue on the agenda of accelerating economic and technological development.Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone, located in south-west China, is the showcase of Sichuan Province to the outside world. But its attraction for foreign investment is limited by both macro investment conditions and its development objectives and goals. Foreign investment, multinational corporations in particular, has benefited Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone in terms of capital , technology , human resources training and management skills . Therefore, it is an inevitable problem for Chengdu Hi-Tech zone to consider to adjust its strategies to meet the challenges of global economic integration.The thesis provides concrete suggestions for policy adjustment, analyzing the actual operation initializing foreign investment integratedly and individually .The thesis consists of three parts. The first chapter, on the basis of substantial evidences, discusses present situation, achievements and utilization of Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone.To surplementarily illustrate the argument, the second chapter has taken a foreign founded enterprise, ALJ Co., Ltd., as a typical case. The demonstration of this company's whole investment process reflects the conclusions drawn in the first chapter.On the basis of what has been discussed in the first two chapters, the third chapter is the very theme of the thesis. It makes constructive proposals for Chengdu HI-Tech Zone to making full use of foreign investment. The measures proposed in the thesis are expected to be of universal significance for all the state---rank hi-tech zones in West China, individual factors of Chengdu HI-Tech Zone is not taken into consideration.
