Mass Customization Production Mode And Key Supportive Technologies

As a new production pattern, mass customization has drawn most attention from the academia and enterprise and is considered as the most important pattern of the 21St century. The meaning of mass customization is to meet the specific detnand of a customer with the cost close to that of Mass production. Market survey has discovered that, with the development of economy, market demand is driving toward variety and custom-made. How to meet the specific demand of each customer economically has become the goal pursued by more and more enterprises, Mass customization evolves gradually from this reason. On the basis of reading a lot of related articles and taking part in the project of Research on Design Method for Mass Customization (DFMC), this paper discussed key technology involved in implementation of mass customization and related implementation theory and method. The major content discussed in the paper is as follows: 1. The paper compared the merits and demerits between mass customization production pattern and other patterns 2. The paper described the characteristics of mass customization from process model, information model and organization model of enterprise. 3. The paper went on to describe the requirement of design for mass customization. According to the requirement of design process, the paper suggest that design process be reorganized using modern design method such as ratio-engineering and group technology, modularize technology, QFD technology etc. The paper offers a complete set of implementation theory and method. 4. This paper stressed on the theory of two subsystems: acquirement of customer demand and cost estimating and detailed the functions and prototype of them. 5. This paper described the classification-encoding technology and brought forward classification-encoding definition of masscustomization.
