Focusing on the average technology innovations ofcorporations, this paper studies the principles of the key elementsin their general external environment. Its purpose is to providetheoretical basis for corporations to take more advantages of theexternal environment in their technology innovations as well as forgovernments to improve the external environment. The paperdivides the external environment into three sections: policy andlegislation environment, market environment and resource-supporting environment. The policy and legislation environment isdefined into two parts: resource input and output protection oftechnology innovation, basing on their different functioning fields.In market environment, four parts including social demand,customer preference, competitors and market competition elementshave different effects on corporation's technology innovationbehavior up to their direct or indirect nature of function, which indetails are reflected in six aspects. Venture capital, human resource,synergic tech-base and information networks constitute theresource-supporting environment. Extending in the above track, thepaper initially establishes a new theoretical framework, whichtemps to provide a basis for further study.
