Food Security Objectives Of China's Major Grain Varieties Structure Analysis

Grain is an essential product in social life, and the grain security is important to China. Under the goal of grain security, the paper analyses the main breeds of grains which respectively represent the structural character of food and feed grains through demand and supply side. In the former side, after generally clarifying the consumption trends of food and feed grains, the article suggests the demand of grains, especially that of food ,can be met, thus the grain security will be ensured. In the latter side, the paper uses the research method of security and efficiency deriving from the documentary reviews to compare the reactions of the revenue on productions between wheat and maize. Compared with the maize, the production of wheat is less focused on efficiency than on quantity and it indicates that there have differences between efficiency and security in different breeds. In addition, the author expounds briefly the other types of relationships between security and efficiency of grains and points out that with the speeding up of China joining WTO, the imports of grains should fit in the structure of international markets. Based on the conclusions resulting from the analysis, the paper proposes the policies which considerate both security and efficiency. In the end, the further research suggests that the method of decreasing the loss could be applied to various fields.
