This pqPef, by historical and economic means, normatively aPproaches a subjectof the connections between the exchange system and the organs of state power or thefamily economy in the Chinese ancient economic history and tries to reveal theexchange essence in the traditional economy and the reason that the caPita1ismdidn't: y bring abollt. The thesis consists of four sections. The first section sorts out and classifies the academic achievements of family, state, exchange and construction relating to the topic. After researching their successand failure, these views are found out: the history is constructed and a process inwhich one cost is rep1aced by another, The Chinese traditional economy history is adouble-eaved construction that is composed of the upper state and the lower falnilyeconomy, In order to save costs and enlarge profits, states and fami1ies made use ofexchange which is the original form of the commodity economy and the market-oriented economy so exchange was developed innomally. The second section ana1yses logically the connection of the double-eavedstruction and the exchange economy. Firstly, the concept of the double-eavedstruction is defined. The upper state whose core is the emperor(rule and the lowerfamily economy make up the double-eaved struction. Secondly, it is researched thatthat rep1ace one cost with another, states and families use the exchange method.Lastly, it is found out that these exchange methods are the unidirectional and unequaltransaction of the "quota" or the "management", bot the equal "buying and selling"deal is short, which is indeed beneficial to the normal groWth of the commodifyeonomy and the seed of caPitalism. The third section general1y historical1y describes the relationship between thedouble-eaved construction and the exchange system, demonstrates mainly thee1ements that determine the 8tate and the family large-scale production, because ofthe state and family element comPctitiveness, which can be analysesed by the cost-profit and the margin analysis. uAs for these various constitutions which infiuence theexchange developement during the defferent historial period, a dynastic descriptionsummarizes historically and actually that the upper state and the lower family uti1izethe exchange way so as to realize their large-scale production. But the shapes of theexchange economy can't bring about a exchange system which steadily occupied theiatermediate stratum. The fourth section presents the elementary conclusions of the paper.(see page43)...
