Since 1978, with the implementation of economic reforms and the open-door policy, China's agricultural industry has seen rapid development and the level of agricultural production rises dramatically. However, increased marketization and internationalization have raised a series of problems, such as shortage of resources, production on a small scale, conservative technology, the poor quality of agriproducts and the low safety of food. As a result, it is now vitally important that the China consider implementing technologically advanced options for the future development of agriculture.Strong agricultural extension systems are necessary to making the most of agricultural technology, which will ensure that potential productive forces are convert into a reality. In this thesis, the author confirms the achievements made by traditional agricultural extension systems through the description of the features of them. The thesis argues, however, that old agricultural extension systems should be reformed to remain in line with the changes in the country's economic environment (especially the establishment of market system) and the development and evolution of agricultural technology. The key point of the reform is to set up "agricultural extension system with variety of subjects and complexity", which encourages agribusiness to play a role in agricultural extensions. An analysis of the economic characteristics of agricultural technology is applied here to prove that the extension of "Exclusive Use Technology" can be done by the agribusiness. Expounding upon this, the thesis suggests that, due to the foreseeable benefits, it can be expected that agribusiness would be willing to implement agricultural extension systems and farmers would be willing to accept new technologies, as agricultural technology and agricultural production material depend on each other. On this basis, the author offers some agricultural extension models of agribusiness and makes further illustration with some examples and mathematical formuli. To conclude, recommendations are presented that, if put in place by the government, would assist in the creation of positive policies in support of agribusiness.
