How to realize low cost operation based on the satisfaction of customers rapidly and effectively, is a problem many enterprises facing today. Inventory issue has become a hotspot in the research of management again. The appearance of supplychain concept provides a good method to settle the inventory problem.This dissertation researches inventory issue from the angle of supply chain. Following the introduction of supply chain theory and inventory theory ,the second chapter brings forward the framework of inventory in the supply chain, analyzes the reason of the inventory issue from the angle of process and structure, and describes the issue in organization flow, information flow and logistics of the inventory in details. Based on the analysis of the second chapter, in the third chapter, settling methods to inventory in logistics and information flow are studied in details. In the fourth chapter, inventory management model in the supply chain is discussed, which is the core problem of inventory management in the supply chain, and explores the decentralized supply chain. The fifth chapter discusses and values some supply chain management modes at present, such as VMI(Vendor Managed Inventory),JMI(Jointly Managed Inventory) and CPFR(Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment).
