Zhejiang South Korea And Japan Agricultural Modernization Level And Support System Is A Comparative Study

Agricultural modernization is the basis of economic and social modernization. The period from the beginning of this century to 2020 is a key phrase for Zhejiang province's agricultural modernization, therefore how to promote agricultural modernization has become a vital task of rural area of Zhejiang province at present time. After reviewing of the theory and implications, symbols and stage division of agricultural modernization, this thesis gives a comprehensive estimation on the level of agricultural modernization of Zhejiang province, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, and makes a systematical empirical analysis on the support system of the agricultural modernization in the four areas. Some approaches and countermeasures to promote agricultural modernization of Zhejiang province are put forward.The thesis includes five chapters:Chapter 1: Illustrates the foundation of the research task, and elucidates the value of systematic comparison on the level of agricultural modernization and its supporting system among the four areas.Chapter 2: Gives a review on the developing model of modern agriculture since 20th century, and analyzes the character implications, symbols and stage division of agricultural modernization.Chapter 3: Summarizes the present methods on agricultural modernization appraise, determines a multi-indicators complex appraise method. According to the principles of scientificity, sufficiency, feasibility and comparability, the thesis establishes a multi-indicator model for estimating agricultural modernization level, including 6 principal indicators, 23 massive indicators. Then estimates respectively the level of agricultural modernization of Zhejiang province (1978-1998), South Korea, Japan and Taiwan (1970-1998), analyzes the present stage of agricultural modernization of the four area.Chapter 4: Compares the agricultural support system of the four areas, including the condition of agricultural development, land institution, agricultural protection policies, social service, urbanization and non-agriculturization; sums up each area's feature, experience and enlightenment to Zhejiang province.Chapter 5: Gives an overall summary on the achievements of agricultural modernization in Zhejiang province, suggests an approach of agricultural modernization for Zhejiang province in view of its special situation, namely the approach of sustainable development directed by market, based on small scale farm, leaded by application and innovation of bio-and information technology, with a strategic adjustment on agricultural structure, supported by the perfect system of agricultural protection and social service, promoted by urbanization and non-agriculturization. At the end, the thesis puts forward countermeasures to promote agricultural modernization of Zhejiang province in related fields.
