Duxiu Democratic Thought

Chen Duxiu's thoughts were broad. The democratic thoughts and socialistic thoughts were the core and the most valuable part of his thoughts.The thesis tries to investigate the origin,content and the developing process and concludes their character and limits. The democratic thought of Chen Duxiu mainly includes the early ones and the late ones. His early democratic thoughts were devided into the capital ones and proletariatic ones. His late thoughts mainly were the ones from 1928 to 1942.The first charter of the thesis discusses Chen Duxiu's capital democratic thoughts. The first part is about the formation of Chen Duxiu's democratic thoughts. First,it discusses his change from the traditional feudal thoughts to the reform thought of Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao. Then the thesis discusses his change from reformism to the democratic revolution from 1902 to 1903 .At last the thesis discusses the formal formation of this democratic thoughts.The second part in the first charter discusses the maturation of his democratic thought in the early New Culture Movement of May Fourth,which includes three aspects. The first aspect is on the citizenism. The main points are that the basis and core of the citizenism is that the citizens should own the rights,the rights of the citizens are over all,it is if the country provides the people's rights to identify the democratic and tyrannical country. The second aspect is on Chen Duxiu's thoughts on freedom,equality and ethics,Chen Duxiu thought that if the republic system was strengthened politically,it must be dealt with from the enlightenment of the thoughts . Chen Duxiu thought that the important area of the enlightenment was the ethics area. He thought that Confucism was the represents of the old thoughts and ideas and the important points were the ethics,which became the great obstacle of the civilization reform,he saw the importance and difficulty of the ethics in the democratic thoughts. He put forward six new value system,in which the core is the democracy and the sciencespirit.The second charter discusses the social democracy formed in the late New Culture Movement of May Fourth. The part discovers the time background in which his thoughts change from capital democracy to the social democracy and it points out that he formed the theoretical outline of the proletariate democratic politics.The third charter discusses Chen Duxiu 's democratic thoughts from 1929 to 1932. The fourth charter discusses his democratic thoughts of Chen Duxiu in his last ten years. After thinking about anti-Japanese war,two world wars and the socialism of the Soviet Union,Chen Duxiu strengthened the belief in democracy. Chen Duxiu was one to put forward the theory of the democratic socialism,which didn't admit the difference between proletaritic democracy and the capital democracy and was an abstract democratic thought over history. Chen Duxiu bravely pointed out the shortcomings of the Soviet Union form and insisted in the importance of democracy to the socialism.The fifth charter is the conclusion part. It points out the character and limits of Chen Duxiu 's democratic thoughts.The creative points and learning contribute are as follows:Firstly the thesis investigates the early democracy of Chen Duxiu particularly. Secondly the thesis analyses and concludes Chen Duxiu 's democratic thoughts by the numbers. Thirdly the thesis analyses Chen Duxiu 's democratic thoughts from 1929 to 1932. At last the thesis points out that Chen Duxiu is the first one to put forward the democratic socialism and his democratic thought was the abstract one over history and classes,which in fact represented the goodness of Chinese national capitalism. However,he didn't give up the wish to the social democracy.
