A swift development of Multinational Corporations is the most outstanding appearance of world economy in the late of 20 century. Since 1990s, with the deep development of the economic globalization and organization, the degree of foreign opening of world countries exceeds before. Multinational Corporations step into a new stage. According to UNCTAD, in the early of 1990s, Multinational Corporations had just 37 thousand parent companies, with 240 thousand branches abroad. But in the late of 1990s, the number added to 62 thousand parent companies. The stock capital of Multinational Corporations'branches exceeded $3500 billion, whose sales topped $9500 billion. By statistics, Multinational Corporations control about 40 percent global output value, 50-60 percent international trade, 60-70 percent international technology trade, 80-90 percent R&D and 90 percent international investment. During the process of world economy globalization, Multinational Corporations have increasingly combined with other countries closely. They form an integrated international product system in which Multinational Corporations have dominant status. Multinational Corporations have become an arbiter in the world economy.Meanwhile, with modern technology's changing in each passing day, international trade and investment's liberalization improving further, and economic integration deepening, international competition became increasingly acute and complicated. The operating situation of Multinational Corporations is changing. So, Multinational Corporations realized one company, though its extensive dimensions, its strong strength, is hard to succeed in the world market only by its own. The traditional style of doing by oneself is old-fashioned. A new organizational framework between companies----Multinational Strategic Alliances (MNSA for short) came into being. Multinational Corporationsmore and more adopted MNSA during international production and operation, not only by FDI.MNSA's booming changes the traditional mode of thinking. Cooperation is becoming the main trend of relations between companies. Economist Shenghong said "cooperation is better than non-cooperation."Through the whole 1990s, Multinational Corporations widely set up all kinds of MNSA in the links from R&D to sales, to search for every advantages and chances benefit for their own development. Some scholars point out: 90 times is an era of MNSA. The description didn't overstate. In all, MNSA is the necessary choice for competition and cooperation between Multinational Corporations. There is no doubt that MNSA has many attractive advantages, but it is a hard organizational form too. Its complication is a good challenge to management. So how to realize rightly MNSA and make use of it for the goal of elevating competition is a realistic question before the companies. At the turn of the century, Chinese companies face a great task: how to go abroad and do transnational business. After dozens of years, our companies have a preliminary dimension. Some excellent companies and groups have sprung up. At the same time, some paid more attention to MNSA and set up MNSA with other Multinational Corporations successfully. It not only shows our companies partly own the conditions of cooperating with other Multinational Corporations, but also is a sample effect to home companies. However, in general, our companies didn't pay enough attention to MNSA.After entering WTO, China will enjoy rights under the multilateral trade system, and perform the duties correspondingly. Finding the great chance in China, Multinational Corporations have marched on and takenChinese market. Facing the situation, how our companies take measure to compete is an important challenge.Analyzing the existing state and the problem of our companies'transnational business, the author points ou...
