In the knowledge economy society, knowledge is becoming the most important element in the operation of modern enterprises. The survival and development of enterprises will depend heavily on the possession, creation and application of knowledge. Therefore, knowledge workers, the owner of knowledge capital, are becoming the core part of the human resources in enterprises and the most important driving force to create the value.Just as Peter Drucker said, knowledge workers will be the key issue of the human resource and the biggest challenge in the 21st century. Nowadays, more and more enterprises, especially high-tech enterprises, are facing big challenges on knowledge worker management. Therefore, it is the first thing for executives in the new economy era to manage knowledge workers, understand their requirements and motivate them effectively.This thesis focuses on the motivational factors of knowledge workers in high-tech enterprises. Firstly, we analyze the most important motivational factors that knowledge workers care by literature reading, questionnaires and interviews. Then we classify the individual motivational factors by statistical analysis. Secondly, we study the relationship between the motivational factors and their impacts on the knowledge workers, which helps us to figure out the factors with most remarkable effects on the incentive degree. At last, we probe into the changing rule of motivational factors and incentive degrees with regards to the difference of genders, ages, diplomas, working years, salaries and job types. With these conclusions, we can construct a motivational factor model of knowledge workers in high-tech enterprises.
