Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most vital industries that influence the survival and the health of the human beings, which is one of the international high-tech industries. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is the essence of the world traditional medicine, so the research of it and its industry development, especially the development of its high-tech new product, have the vital meaning to TCM' s entrance for world process. Today, the spring up of modern technology of TCM has greatly promoted the development of the pharmaceutical industry, and has consequently produced a large group of pharmaceutical enterprises.As regard to the chances and challenges confronted the new risingenterprise-Bachelor research Center of Peking University, which focuses onthe research of TCM, this article has analyzed and studied the following points, using the fundamental theories and methods of enterprise development strategy:Firstly, from the external environment, analyzes the development and character of international pharmaceutical industry, including its general introduction, main characteristic and its tendency; analyzes the present conditions and the trend of our Chinese pharmaceutical industry, including the recent achievement and trend of domestic pharmaceutical industry; analyzes the characters of drug research and development, the present research conditions and tendency of international pharmaceutical industry, and the present research and development conditions of domestic pharmaceutical industry.Secondly, from the internal environment, analyzes the advantages of the development of Bachelor research Center of Peking University, including resource, strategy, technology and management; also analyzes its inner organizational and product structure; furthermore, studies, subjectively and objectively, the competitive superiority and inferiority of Bachelor research Center of Peking University, including its market structure and major opponents.Based on the above mentioned analyses, the thesis comes up with the strategic instruction of the enterprise' s development, and draw up the corresponding development strategy and the strategic goal for 2005, especially the specific executive strategy of drug R&D strategic goal; what' s more, from the point of the view of intellectual property, traditional Chinese pharmaceutical industry may be the only industry that possess sovereign intellectual property, so comes up further with patent strategy.This article mainly uses statistical analysis, investigating analysis, contrasting analysis, and industry and product structure analysis.
