| The globalization of economy and the internationalization of competition are the striking characteristics of the development of today's world economy. The leading force which pushes forward the globalization of economy is the transnational corporation, which is the main body of a country's participation in the international competition. If we want to investigate and decide the effects of economy globalization upon the economic development of each country, we must start with the microeconomic activities of the transnational corporation, analyzing its positive and negative effects upon the resource disposition, industrial development, economic increase and some other aspects of a country, and thus determine the advantages and disadvantages of economy globalization, only by so doing can we work out suitable strategies to participate in the globalization of economy.Our country is a big developing country. With the growth of economic power and competition force of our country, we should not only absorb more foreign capital, but also invest more abroad to develop our transnational corporations. Only in this way can we take fuller advantage of international resources, participate in international competition more directly and in international division of labor as well as economic cooperation more effectively. Joining WTO is a new milestone of the internationalization development of our country's economy. It indicates that our economy further merges into the economic system of the world. Against this background, studying the new development of transnational corporations is of very important and realistic meaning to working out a strategy to absorb direct foreign investment and cultivating our own transnationally managing enterprises.In this article, the author gives a rather systematic research and investigation to the new development of transnational corporations in the 1990's. Based on this, the author expounds the strategical choices of transnational management of our enterprises. The basic structure of the article is as follows:Chapter One: Today, the tendency of the globalization of world economy is more evident. In this chapter, the author makes a systematic research into the motive force and the carrier of the formation and development of this tendency as well as the new development of transnational corporations, and gives an overall generalization and analysis of the new development of transnational corporations.Chapter Two: According to its academic origin or its basis, transnational corporation theory can be generally classified into two theoretical systems, that is, macro-analytic theory and micro-analytic theory, with micro-analytic theory as the main stream. With the development of transnational corporations, its theory is developing, too. In this chapter, the author makes some comments on the major theories of the two main systems as well as on the releative achievements of the strategical management theories of enterprises, strategical coalition theories, organizational theories and network theories of enterprises.Chapter Three: In this chapter, the author discusses the interaction between transnational corporationsand the development of world economy, and analyses systematically the influences of transnational corporations on the host country and the economy of the investing country from both the positive aspect and the negative aspect.Chapter Four: In this chapter, the author, from a dialectical point of view, analyses the effects of transnational corporations on he economy of our country, based on the development situation of transnational corporations in our country, and then through analyzing the development process of transnational corporations' direct investment in China, the new characteristics of the investment and its influence on the economy of our country, puts forward some suggestions on the policies of introducing direct foreign investment of transnational corporations in China on a large scale.Chapter Five: In this chapter, the author probes into the problem of de... |
