| This paper takes method which combines the quantitative and qualitative analysis to research the practical and theoretical basis of spatial model of the TungTing lake area economy development, and to put forward the countermeasures of the point-axis developing model. This paper can be divided into 5 parts as follows:1. Introduction. This part introduces the theoretical and practical significance of the subject in a short way, and Summarizes the history and tendency of the spatial model study of the internal regional economy development.2. Analysis of the economy development conditions and present circumstances. The basical purposes of the above analysis are just to display the advantageous conditions and restrictive factors. The advantageous conditions of the economy development around the TungTing lake area: ?Physical conditions: The resources of the light, thermal and water are very plentiful. Water area and plain exist widely. The forms of land vary greatly. The ecological landscape presents a cubic appearance clearly. The biological resources diversified. The potential developing capability of tourism resources is very great. ć¸'ocial economy conditions: The position and communications are much better than those of other areas. It owns a powerful laborforce and sound agriculture.The economy development level around the TungTing lake area presents a clear regional difference. It mainly shows in the following aspects: The comprehensive strength of the whole areas including seventeen cities and counties can be divided into five level gradation parts through analytical method of major factors, regression and accumulative. The spatialstructure of the economy growth can be divided into four forms. The spatial structure of the industrial area can be divided into 3 forms and it belongs to grow into light industry presently. The combination of agriculture and resources is not enough.Since 1996, the echoing around the TungTink lake area has entered the mid-term of the industrialization. It is dashing into the mature stage from the growing stage. The spatial structure evolution of the regional economy development is very fierce.The restrictive factors of the economy development around the TungTing lake area: flood happens and continues of teeny. In general its danger is very strong.Oncomdania produces in a large number epidemic diseases spread again. The contradictory between people and land grows fiercely. The pollution of the ecological environment is very heavy. The system of the cities and towns is not perfect. The disparity between the cities and rural areas expands. The investment in the construction of the infrastructure facilities is not adequate.3. The background of the economy development. In the 21 century, the economy in this region faces new opportunities and challenges in order to realize the "leap-forward" development. The position and tendency of the Yang ?tze River industrial belt, the "Tenth Five" plan of the Hunan province's economy development, the structure readjustment of the south China economy circle industry, the choice of the key subject in China western development, China's entry in WTO and "Three gorges" project's construction supply a convenient and urgent macro-background for the regional economy development.4. Forecast of the around TungTing lake area economy development level. We use the regression formula to predict the whole gross products andthree times' industrial products in 2005 and 2010 based on analyzing the relativity between Hunan province's gross products and "around TungTing lake" area gross products.5. The spatial model of the economy development in the "around Tung Ting lake" in this stage, it should apply the point-axis system model. According to the economy developing reality, the whole region can be divided into 4-grade regional central cities, and 3-grade axis-based belt, and researches industrial spatial structure of the centres and axis-based belt.
