It has been an aim for the research institute of Karamay Petrochemical company how to strengthen its superiority and offset weaknesses.Since being confronted with much disadvantageous factor, for instance its location is remote, its climate is odiously, human resource scarce, and so on, the institute's administration innovations was very difficult, frequently needed much more cost and efforts.Maybe,the innovations of the institute were not outstandingly compared to first-class one, but take the inside and external environment into consideration, this innovation achievement should be affirmative.The top leaders of the institute has made up mind to go on with this innovation continually, and hope to find some precious experience for the further development, and look for a sustainable development route for itself and similar organizations.In the first section of this thesis, the institute, which is R&D centre of Karamay petrochemical company and its correlation backdrop, was emphasized to introduce.Series of administration innovation work of the institute of latest years has been summarized and analyzed in the second part of the thesis.The third part focuses on the institute's environment analysis, by means of SWOT analytic approach, the present environment of the institute was analyzed completely. We hope it is a useful reference for the institute's strategic decisions in the future.The fourth part is the keystone of this paper. Through Michael E.Porte's contest strategy theory, strategy and technique-frame design, human resource etc,of the institute in the future is probed deep. This thesis is a typical case-study about a company R&D in the western China. The author expects that this thesis will give some help to the companies' development.
