What will China benefit from the membership of the World Trade Organization (WTO)? What changes have been made in our national economy in this year? The answer is following: the membership will benefit more in a long_term perspective. The reality of international trade, based on the comparative_interests theory, is in favor for China to develop and improve its comprehensive national strength. As a WTO member country, China is obliged to act strictly in accordance with WTO regime, but meanwhile is entitled to the right in the same regime to defend its national economic sovereignty and security, and to take positive measures to make its economy healthy and stable. With the coexistence of opportunities and challenges as a context, China' s enormous economic profits from WTO membership are accompanied by huge difficulties, especially those increasing elements that affect and undermine China' s economic interests. China s economic security, therefore, is confronted with new threats. In this text, while analyzing various influences upon Chinese economy from WTO membership, the author intends to focus on the membership's impact upon China' s national economic security from a macro perspective. Included are the following topics: preliminary knowledge and theory for the research on national economic security constitution; technical analysis on the membership' s strike from foreign directory investment (FDI); research on the relation between FDI and protection our local economy, especially their actual impacts upon financial security, specially, the author lays his emphasis on the macro aspect of the country' s economy, and chooses domestic market, utilization of foreign investment and financial security as major aspects for analysis. In a sense, economic security in essence is an in_terni_of_economy reflection of state security. To reduce negative influences on China' s economic security from its entry into WTO, it is important to prevent from and defend against risks from abroad and to maintain the government' s initiative in its macro_econoraic regulations. Only with these measures can an overall healthy operation of national economy and a favorable market_share be ensured, and thus the competitive capability of Chinese products be improved. At this point, it is the government that has the responsibility to rein the running of the national economy and safeguard the national economic security. This responsibility should not be shift off.
