Energy (especially oil) is the material foundation of modern civilization and the "blood" of the modern industry. In order to obtain sufficient energy to develop its economy, all the countries of the world struggled with each other, which even lead to fierce conflicts and wars. With the advent of the globalization and speeding-up of their industrialization and modernization of the developing countries (especially Asia-Pacific countries), they are more eager to get more energy from abroad. China is the most typical case. In the past ten years, China has been fully developed in the field of the economy and so do the people's living conditions. At the same time, China has consumed and imported a large amount of oil from abroad and its importing amount exceeded 91,000,000 tone in 2003. That's made China be the No. 2 of the oil consuming countries, only following America. Such amount of oil importing from abroad made china' s oil security face more challenges than ever. To secure its energy and accelerate its economic development healthy and more sustainable, China has been developing diversification according to the world energy geopolitics and implemented a series of diplomatic activities. China supper leaders have been visiting those oil-producing countries from time to time, whose footprints covers Saudi Arabia and Sudan. All contributes to Chinese Oil companies cooperating with the local companies concerned. Successfully oil diplomacy has been fulfilled in the previous ten years. This dissertation aims to contribute to Chinese energy undertakings and its diplomacy by analyzing its international background, finding that hasn' t been done and giving some practical suggestions.
