The public relations of government, as a kind of special public relations, mainly makes full use of information dissemination and perfects the communicative channel in order to attract social mass to take part in public affairs and improve the ability of the government. It is very important to coordinate the relationships between the government and social mass. With the constant deepening of market economy and political reform, public relations became an important force in the social life.This paper is an attempt to make a comprehensive and systematic analysis of government public relations from the angle of management. It tries to explain the uniqueness of government public relations on the basis of national conditions of our country. In some sense, it is a kind of innovation to manage the government and it is also the objective requirement of transformation for government functions in order to meet the needs of the practice of government public relations.The paper can be divided into five parts. In the introduction, the author mainly clarifies the basic motive of the research on the government public relations. It emphasizes that how to introduce public relations into the government management is a kind of creative method of governance, which is also the objective requirement of setting up a "domestic, high-efficient, responsible, transparent" government. In the second part, it briefly introduces the basic meanings and characteristics of government public relations. It puts emphasis on the point that government public relation is a kind of positive interaction between government and the public in order to realize social public interests. The third part tries to explore the necessity and realistic meaning of studying the public relations of government on the basis of our national conditions. The fourth part analyzes the current situation of government public relations in our country and explains the insufficiency. The last part suggests that the government should take some measures to solve problems in the development of government public relations in the respect of the management idea, the system innovation and operating mechanism, etc.
