Since the 1990's, the world situation has drastically changed. In the meantime, international relations got a significant transformation. On this newer Background, the importance of international factor on Taiwan Problem went up gradually, especially in that of Japan.Upon the establishment of the People's Republic of China on 1 October 1949, the Nationalist regime retreated to Taiwan, where it received foreign support, giving rise to the Taiwan problem. Taiwan is part of the sacred territory of the People's Republic of China. It is the inviolable duty; of all Chinese people, including our compatriots in Taiwan, to accomplish the great task of reunifying the motherland. The Taiwan problem is the Chinese people own business; other foreigners don't have any rights to intervene it.China ceded the island of Taiwan to Japan at the end of the first Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895). In the Cairo Conference of 1943, the allied powers agreed to have Japan cede Taiwan to the Republic of China upon Japan's surrender. In 1945, after being defeated in World War II, Japan was forced to give Taiwan back to China.For a long period of time, People pay more attention to American factor on Taiwan Problem, while neglecting that of Japan. Compared with American factor, Japanese factor enjoys much more historic character. After President Lee's pronouncements, Japanese factor has acquired greater salience.This thesis has four chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes the origin of Japanese factor on Taiwan Problem. The second chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the actions and foreground of Japan's intervening with Taiwan, as well as close connection between Japan and Taiwan. The third chapter mainly deals with the reason and the essence of Japan's intervening with' Taiwan Problem. The last chapter preliminarily probes into the tendency of Japan's intervening with Taiwan, also discusses the corresponding policy of Chinese government, which can be helpful to Chinese government to resolve Taiwan Problem ultimately.
