After Koi Zumi came into power, the Japanese government further included its Taiwan policy into its overall foreign strategy, supported "Taiwan Independence" forces and strengthened its relationship with Taiwan. All these brought negative effects to the great cause of the Chinese reunification and severely hindered the development of Sino-Japan relationship. In this thesis, the author illustrates the readjustment of Koi Zumi government's foreign strategy, analyzes its policy to China and its Taiwan policy, elaborates on the features, reasons and effects of Japan's changing of its Taiwan policy, predicts the trend of Japan's Taiwan policy and provides possible measures accordingly.In this thesis, the author analyzes the nature of Japan's changing of its Taiwan policy, emphasizes that while settling the Taiwan Question, China must pay attention to and keep a close watch on Japan's influence. At the same time, the Chinese government should start from the general strategy of China's development and the overall situation of Sino-Japan relation, strengthen dialogues between China and Japan, guard against the over-expansion of the right-wing forces in Japan so as to reduce unfavorable influences, promote the development of Sino-Japan relation and continue to explore effective ways to settle the Taiwan Question.
