Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a new managerial conception and method, which meets the needs of future and makes enterprises pay more attention to resources and competitiveness outside themselves. In tact, SCM is one of the sources of enterprises' core competitiveness. It is necessary for retailing industry to introduce the conceptions and methods of SCM. Through close cooperation and systematical integration with upper enterprises, retailers can effectively improve the operation level of the enterprises, reduce costs and improve customer's service level.This thesis mainly carries out researches on the topic of techniques and models of SCM, and also of the application of these techniques and models in retailing industry. In the thesis, techniques and models of SCM are analyzed; what's more, the current situations and relevant policies of application of these techniques and methods in retailing industry are discussed. In the first place, the thesis discusses the basic theories of SCM, which involves the beginning of SCM, several definitions of SCM and the meaning of SCM. In this part, it also unplements Game Theory to analyze cooperation of Supply Chain and expounds the role of SCM in commercial competitions. In the second place, the thesis discusses the core information technologies that consist of automatic discrimination, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Internet technology and Electronic Commerce (EC). In the third place, the thesis sums up all kinds of techniques and methods, which mainly consist of Material Requirement Planning(MRP), Manufacturing Resources Planning(MRPII), Distribution Requirement Planning(DRP), Just In Time(JIT), Vendor Managed Inventory(VMI), Third Part Logistics(TPL), CAO etc. In the fourth place, the thesis expounds the Efficient Replenishment (ER) models of retailing industry, which involves main data consistency model, reordering operation model and production distribution model. Last but not least, the thesis analyzes the current situations and relevant policies of the application of techniques and methods of SCM in retailing industry. Based on the analysis of weakness of application of techniques and methodsof SCM in retailing industry, the thesis provides the relevant policies about how to implement techniques and methods of SCM in retailing industry, which mainly consist of strengthening the researches on SCM and introduction of SCM, changing conceptions, promoting the application of bar code, EDI, EC in retailing industry, carrying out BRP, Optimizing the physical distribution system, strengthening inventory management, and implementing management by information.
