The company strategy is a tactics planning made by the administrative level of the company. The purpose enables the company to establish its position in market, compete with opponents successfully, meet the customers' requirements and obtain the outstanding achievements. No strategic organization is like a ship without helm which could swivel in stationary. From 1984 to 2004, Inner Mongolia No.1 Machinery Group has engaged in railway vehicles for whole twenty years. The development of railway vehicle products has been stable from small scale to large scale. However, the company are facing some problems which restrict the development of railway vehicles because the railway ministry requires that the railway industry takes a leap forward in first twenty years in the century. To develop the railway vehicle products in the company continuously and enable it in unbeatable position in keen competitive market and endeavor to achieve the development goals of the company in the tenth-five-year plan and the eleventh-five-year, the company has to study how to develop the railway vehicles for future and formulate the reasonable and practical development strategy and measures in views of product development strategy. In theory and actual proof, the thesis will research how to develop the railway vehicle products for future in Inner Mongolia No.l Machinery Group and formulate the reasonable and practical development strategy and measures in aspects of analysis for competition of railway vehicles manufacturing industry, analysis for competitive capability of the development of the railway vehicle products of the company itself, strategic positioning of the development of the railway vehicle products, strategic division of the railway vehicle products, detailed measures to implement the development strategy of the railway vehicle products.
