Transition Of Chinese Peasants And Political Participation

Peasants' political participation is an important part of the problem of "agriculture, village and peasants ". In a way, whether the problem can be solved basically depends on peasants' political participation. Therefore, emphasizing the problem of "agriculture, village and peasants" has to emphasize peasants' political participation in China. The thesis is also an effort of putting forward some suggestions on the problem.Upholding the guiding ideology of Marxism concept of political participation, based on the reasonable elements of the definition of political participation in domestic and overseas, the thesis defines political participation. In addition, the article deals with the four patterns of political participation.The paper thinks during social transformation period Chinese peasants are divided, which has great effect on peasants' political participation; and there is relativity between peasants' political participation and economic development, political stability, political development. The thesis also states the approaches of peasants' political participation, including institutional political participation and non-institutional political participation. Furthermore, the article discusses the reasons of the enlarging non institutional political participation.From sex differentiation, age, education level, political visage and social fluxion influencing peasant' political participation, comparison of peasants' political participation between areas with flourish economy and areas with backward economy, the motivation of peasants' political participation, the thesis depicts the actuality of peasants' political participation in China. And the paper points out some imperative problems on peasants' political participation: the narrow approaches of peasants' political participation, the clan organization interfering with peasants' political participation , some officials deprive peasants of the right of political participation at random etc.At last, for the purpose of propelling the development of peasants' political participation smoothly, the article gives some countermeasures: developing socialist market economy; widening the approaches of peasants' political participation;developing education industry and enhancing peasants' constitutions; attaching importance to peasants' interests and restraining the behavior of local government; developing socialist political culture and fostering Chinese citizen culture; learning useful and successful experiment about peasants' political participation abroad.
