Fallowing China's entry into the 21st century, with the development in science and technology, the competition between enterprises becomes more and more intense. And the great changes in politics, economics and society make demand more uncertain and multiple. In order to enhance the competition force, enterprises begin to turn their attention from productivity to the field of circulation. So to strengthen logistics management becomes "the third source of profit".Distribution is an important link in logistics, which is joined to consumers directly. Vehicle Scheduling Problem (VSP) is the main part of optimizing the distribution system. It can advance the economic benefits and make logistics scientific.This paper deeply studies the core problem of distribution, VSP, on the base of particular explanation of distribution operation.Firstly, the paper analyzes VSP, and sorts it according to given conditions. Secondly, it chooses a typical one to analyze. It sets a model of the problem, and settles it with a genetic algorithm that is fast and accurate. Thirdly, the paper introduces how to turn a multi-depot problem into a Single-Depot problem.
